ED GOLDSCHNEIDER
is a NYC-based Music Director, Pianist, Composer, Arranger, and Vocal Coach.
He was Conductor for the original Broadway run of URINETOWN, and Substitute Conductor for the Broadway productions of YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN and AVENUE Q.
Other Broadway productions he has played for include: AIN’T TOO PROUD, IN TRANSIT, SUNSET BOULEVARD, ON THE TOWN, LEGALLY BLONDE, GREY GARDENS, CHITA RIVERA - THE DANCER’S LIFE, and WICKED.
For 7 seasons he has been on the conducting staff at the RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR.
where for 13 seasons he has also served as Rehearsal Pianist and Keyboardist (also: RADIO CITY SUMMER and SPRING SPECTACULAR). He recently conducted the acclaimed run of THE STREETS OF NEW YORK at The Irish Repertory Theatre, and played rehearsals for the Broadway revival of COMPANY.
Off-Broadway, he Music Directed the record-breaking 11 year run of NEWSICAL THE MUSICAL; other Off-Broadway credits include: WHEN PIGS FLY, FINIAN’S RAINBOW (Irish Rep), BONNIE AND CLYDE (NYMF ‘Audience Favorite’), THE FANTASTICKS (Sullivan Street Playhouse/Snapple Center), ALTAR BOYS, THE BOYS FROM SYRACUSE, and DAMES AT SEA. National Tours: RENT (Benny Company), WEST SIDE STORY, IT’S A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING; and conducted several regional symphony orchestras while touring with CIRQUE MUSICA WONDERLAND.
Regionally, he Music Directed and composed the Dance Arrangements for the world premier production of LOVE AND OTHER FABLES at Theatre By The Sea (RI). He Conducted A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM at Paper Mill Playhouse (NJ), and played Keyboard for 19 other productions there, including SMOKEY JOE’S CAFE, 1776, KISS ME, KATE!, A WONDERFUL LIFE, HELLO DOLLY!, RAGS, LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, ON THE TOWN, THE FULL MONTY, CINDERELLA, GUYS AND DOLLS, SHE LOVES ME, VICTOR/VICTORIA, ANYTHING GOES, PIPPIN, NO, NO, NANETTE. Other regional: THE LITTLE MERMAID (NCT), ROBIN AND THE SEVEN HOODS (Old Globe), THE LAST FIVE YEARS (Cincinnati Playhouse In The Park), SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS (North Shore, TOTS), and IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE (TUTS).
Orchestrations: BONNIE AND CLYDE (NYMF), ONE WAY TICKET TO HELL (Marilyn Monroe Theatre), various orchestrations for BROADWAY POPS INTERNATIONAL.

As an educator, he has 3 decades of experience teaching and accompanying at AMDA, Pace University, NYU, and Cap 21. With younger artists, he has Music Directed (in-person and remotely) for the AMDA Summer High School Conservatory, and the Ithaca Summer High School Intensive.
Ed graduated from Oberlin College/Conservatory with degrees in English and Piano Performance, studied jazz privately with Garry Dial, and was a member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. He has completed Levels I, II, and III of The Lovetri Institute For Somatic Voicework™
